    It is a new, updated course for beginners who are interested in exploring how to write an original screenplay and also for writers who want to expand their expertise to Screenplay Writing

  You can use the skills you learn here for creating stories in any media, but primarily we will focus on how to prepare for and write a Creative Screenplay. 

  The course will include reading screenplays, writing story ideas, creating log lines and watching many different film/video excerpts to see examples of the different tools we are talking about. Come and be part of this great opportunity.

The Short History of Crime Movies

Location: Terryberry Branch of the Hamilton Public Library

    Come and enjoy the short history of crime movies from the point of view of writing movies. We will find out what genres are in this category and why they still work after more than a century of making them. We will also watch movie clips and have a discussion after the presentation.

Description: 
              This course is very similar to the one I held in April in the Dundas Library. It is a basic level course. You can use the skills you learn here for creating stories in any media, but primarily we will focus on how to prepare for and write a Creative Screenplay.

        "Creative Screenplay Writing" Course 

Location:  Dundas Branch of the Hamilton Public Library, 
                  55 Cootes Dr, Dundas, ON L9H 1C4
Dates: starting on April 7, 2016 for 5 weeks on every Thursday afternoon 
Time: 4-7 pm.

Description:
               This course is a basic level course. We will discover what makes a story a story and how we can use the principles of ancient drama theories in today's screenplays. The course will cover Brainstorming, Basic Elements of a Screenplay, Story Structure, Story-Map, Basic Plots, Story Paradigms, Film Genres, Script Formats. We will also watch a movie together and identify the different Screenplay elements presented in the class.
